Ultrasound cryo-thermo therapy
The advanced combination of ultrasound, cold and heat for effective treatments in physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
Benefits of Ultrasound Therapy
Pain Relief
The increase in tissue temperature can contribute to the relief of joint and muscle pain.
Thermal and Mechanical Effects
Ultrasound can produce thermal and mechanical effects in the treated tissues.
Increased Soft Tissue Extensibility
Ultrasound can help increase the extensibility of soft tissues.
Effects on Scar Tissue
Ultrasound treatment can help make scar tissue more elastic.
Reduction of Swelling
Ultrasound therapy can contribute to reducing swelling.
Applications of Ultrasound Therapy
Ultrasound therapy is used in physiotherapy and rehabilitation and can be applied to various musculoskeletal conditions.
- Joint and Muscle Pain
Can contribute to pain relief through a controlled increase in tissue temperature. - Tendon Injuries
Ultrasound can be used as part of the treatment of tendon injuries. - Scar Tissue
Ultrasound treatment can help make scar tissue more elastic. - Fractures
Ultrasound therapy is among the therapeutic applications provided by the system. - Degenerative Arthritis
Particularly suitable for degenerative and inflammatory conditions. - Swelling
Ultrasound can contribute to reducing swelling.

How Does Ultrasound Therapy Work?
Ultrasound therapy is a non-invasive therapeutic method that uses the energy of sound waves. The waves penetrate soft tissues and produce thermal and mechanical effects.
Continuous emission is primarily used to produce thermal effects, increasing temperature and cellular metabolism and promoting vasodilation.
Pulsed emission is mainly associated with mechanical effects, including acoustic cavitation.
The qmd® ultrasound cryo-thermal system uses frequencies of 1 and 3 MHz and provides continuous and pulsed emission modes as well as thynk1 and thynk2 programs.
Ultrasound Combined with cryo-thermal
Ultrasound + Cold
Combining ultrasound with cold allows a higher delivery of ultrasound energy without causing excessive heating and supports improved ultrasound penetration.
Ultrasound + Heat
Combining ultrasound with thermotherapy improves the effects in the treatment of chronic inflammation, degenerative conditions and muscle strains. It also supports microcirculation and tissue oxygenation.
Ultrasound + contrast therapy®
qmd® ultrasound cryo-thermal enables ultrasound to be combined with contrast therapy®, based on alternating cycles of heat and cold. This combination supports the emulsification of larger molecules and their reabsorption and is indicated for post-traumatic edema and hematomas.
